Transformers One

As a child who grew up with the original Transformers movie, and enjoyed the spectacle (and decay) of the live action Bay Transformers, I was skeptical of this movie. The trailers did not do the movie justice either.

Watching my kid's face light up throughout the film brought me back to my own childhood wonder. Despite having no prior connection to the franchise, he was completely captivated by the characters – and surprisingly, so was I. This movie reignited my love for Transformers and created a new fan in my son.

Sure, the plot occasionally takes convenient turns, and the middle act slows for exposition. But the finale, while predictable, still manages to surprise and delight.

Highly recommended, especially for jaded fans like myself or for parents who want to expose their kids (and wallets) to this beloved franchise.
